Hello world! I'm Sarah. I am a fullstack web developer from Akron, Ohio.

I design, build, and maintain the front end elements of web applications. I translate design comps into interactive websites using JavaScript and WordPress. I edit WordPress websites so clients can better connect with the customers they want to connect with the most.

I am also an online coding instructor at Coding with Kids, an organization that teaches coding skills to kids of all ages. I teach Python to students and coach them through the process of building different games in Codesters. I gather data on student progress and communicate results to parents in weekly emails.

I am looking for a remote full-time front-end role that uses JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks so I can better help businesses get online much quicker and be found by the customers they want to connect with.

About Sarah

I am a fullstack web developer from Akron, Ohio. I design, build, and maintain the front end elements on web applications. I am also teach Python to students of all ages at Coding with Kids.

Throughout my coding journey I've accomplished several things including:

wrote blog posts and articles about various technical concepts, careers, and freelancing.
mentored and empowerd new developers just getting started in tech.
managed the online community Elphas Can Code on Elpha.
created the Disney Codes Challenge, a coding challenge designed to help developers begin a habit of coding more projects.
collaborated with other developers in the tech community to create resources that help others reach their coding goals.

In addition to my tech experience, I taught students academic skills at different schools in Stark County, Ohio and at Sylvan Learning for 9 years. I designed and differentiated curriculum to fit individual learning styles and regularly assessing student progress.

Web Design

I create high quality designs that match a business's look and feel. I work with clients to get the branding just right from the first meeting to the final design comp.

Web Development

I take a design comp and quickly convert it into a pixel perfect website. I can also take a client's existing site and give it an up to date makeover.

Mentoring

I teach coding concepts to new developers and answer questions they have about learning to code. I help them create a plan to accomplish their coding goals.
